Seashells

Seashells are one of our most ancient decorations and their earliest uses were as necklaces or pendants. People still use them this way today, and artisans who make jewelry using seashells find their inspiration in nature. They have long been worn as beads and have also been combined with gemstones and metals in many different cultures. This type of jewel is adored around the world because shells are completely natural and each one is slightly different, with unique markings or other patterns making for wonderful design items.

Remember that the seashell is less robust than some gemstones and therefore might not be suitable for daily use.  To keep your jewelry looking great, a simple care routine is all that is required. Regularly wipe the shell with a soft 100% cotton cloth; this will help to keep it free from dust and dirt that may spoil its shine. Avoid getting hairspray or perfume on it and please don't ever wear your jewelry in a mineral spa - it will turn black.
